Overview :
Cationic rosin emulsion is an effective sizing agent for paper. An acid-fortified rosin (i.e. rosin fortified with Maleic Anhydride) is reacted with a water soluble salt of alkaline-acrylic acid copolymer to form a rosin soap. The rosin soap is emulsified with water under high shearing conditions to provide a modified cationic rosin emulsion.
Benefits of LGS-P-CR20 Cationic Rosin :
1) Reduces Cost of Paper Making - Cationic Rosin reduces the consumption of additives like Alum (Aluminum Sulfate) thus lowering the cost of paper making.
2) Improves Quality of Paper - Lowering the consumption of Alum, paper sized with cationic rosin undergoes minimal acid tendering thereby increasing whiteness and life.
3) Reduces Environmental Pollution - Cationic Rosin is used for sizing under neutral conditions (PH range of 4.5 to 6.5) thereby reducing the discharge of acidic sewage. It reduces the build-up of sulfate ions from Alum in the white water system, reducing the quantity of white water required to be bled off from the system.
Advantages of LGS-P-CR20 :
- It is very effective sizing chemical for paper /paper board produced from waste paper containing calcium carbonate talc, titanium dioxide etc. as filler materials
- It consumes lesser amount of alum /PAC When compared with acid or neural sizing there by reducing corrosion and scaling on sensitive part of paper machine and its auxiliaries.
